I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in LINCOLN CITY OR where I ate at Otis Cafe and I read an interesting cover story about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a few items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After some more research I found some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
