I travel a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in LINCOLN NE where I ate at 4 Friends Restaurant & Lounge and I read a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.

I have to say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After a bit more research I found some other incredible facts about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
