I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in LEXINGTON KY where I ate at Kentucky Fried Chicken 0276 and I read a new cover story about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some other incredible details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
