I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in LEWISVILLE TX where I ate at Clyde's Old Time Hamburgers and I came across an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some other interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses very little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
