I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in LENOIR NC where I ate at Bojangles Famous Chicken and Biscuits and I read a new cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.

I have to say I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I found out some more incredible facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
