I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up eating by myself in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in LEESBURG FL where I ate at Sam & Debbie's Grill and I came across a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some more incredible facts on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
