I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in LAURENS SC where I ate at Wilsons Country Kitchen and I read a new piece about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some other amazing facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
