I travel quite a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in LAS VEGAS NV where I ate at Antonio's and I came across a new cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a few items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I discovered some other amazing pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
