I move around a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in LAS CRUCES NM where I ate at Nellies Cafe and I came across a new piece to do with bamboo. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a few items of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found out some incredible pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo requires little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
