I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in LARIMORE ND where I ate at Larson's Drive-Inn and I saw a new cover story to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased a few items of clothing.
I must tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I discovered some incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
