I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in LAREDO TX where I ate at China Bo Chinese Restaurants and I read a really interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought some items of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some other amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
