I travel quite a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in LANSING MI where I ate at Byblos and I came across a new cover story about bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I should admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.

After some more research I discovered some interesting details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
