I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in LAHAINA HI where I ate at Castaway Cafe and I read a really interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.

I must tell you I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.

Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

Bamboo Clothing LAHAINA

After a little more research I found some other interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
