I travel a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in cafes. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in LA CROSSE KS where I ate at Prairie Rose and I came across a new piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some more incredible facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
