I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in KISSIMMEE FL where I ate at Schiano Pizza and I read an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was very impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After some more research I found out some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
