I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in KINGSTON NY where I ate at Bowery Dugout and I read a really interesting piece to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got some items of clothing.
I must say I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found some incredible details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
