I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up eating by myself in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in KINDER LA where I ate at Comfort Inn and I came across a new article on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and got a couple pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found out some amazing details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
