I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in KANSAS CITY MO where I ate at China Wok and I came across an interesting piece about bamboo. I did not know you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I discovered some amazing facts about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
