I travel quite a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating alone in cafes. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in KANSAS CITY MO where I ate at Raphael Hotel and I saw an interesting cover story about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and purchased some items of clothing.

I should admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After some more research I discovered some other interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo needs little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
