I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up eating by myself in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in JONESBORO GA where I ate at Hong Kong City Chinese Restaurant and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a great choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple pieces of clothing.

I should say I was pretty impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I found some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
