I travel quite a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in JOHNSON CITY NY where I ate at Lighthouse Sea Food & Grill and I came across a new cover story on bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must say I was very happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I found some more amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I do my best to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, socks, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
