I travel quite a lot for my work and so often end up eating by myself in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in JACKSONVILLE IL where I ate at El Corral and I saw an interesting article to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a great option for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and bought some basic items of clothing.

I must say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.

After a bit more research I discovered some other incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the growing period meaning they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
