I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in JACKSONVILLE FL where I ate at Golden Corral Restaurants and I read a new cover story to do with bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got a couple items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found some more amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
