I move around a lot for my studies and so often end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in JACKSONVILLE AL where I ate at China Star Restaurant and I came across an interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothes out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased some items of clothing.

I must tell you I was extremely impressed. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.

After a bit more research I discovered some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as sheets, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
