I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in JACKSON MI where I ate at Napoleon Cafe and I came across a new piece on bamboo clothes. I did not know you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and got a couple pieces of clothing.
I must say I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After some more research I found some amazing facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
