I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in JACKSON MO where I ate at Tractors Classic American Grill and I came across an interesting piece to do with bamboo clothing. I did not realise you are able to make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some incredible facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
