I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in IONE OR where I ate at Beechers Restaurant & Lounge and I came across an interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great option for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a few items of clothing.
I have to admit I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found some more incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs little water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
