I move around a lot for my studies and so regularly end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in INDIANAPOLIS IN where I ate at Skyline Chili and I read a really interesting article about bamboo. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent which means it is a excellent option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.

I must say I was very impressed. The fabric really is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a bit more research I found out some interesting facts about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growing period which means they can survive droughts.

I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
