I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in restaurants. I often take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in INDIAN RIVER MI where I ate at Christophers Restaurant and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I went online and purchased some basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a bit more research I found out some incredible pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows very fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
