I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having dinner all alone in restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in IMMOKALEE FL where I ate at Vestas Cafe State Farmers and I read an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I must tell you I was very impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I found some interesting facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
