I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having my dinner alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in HOUSTON TX where I ate at Waffle House Inc - No 236 and I read a really interesting article about bamboo. I did not realise you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if it was true. I searched online and purchased some basic items of clothing.

I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate doing ironing.

You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.

After a little more research I found some interesting pieces of information on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.

I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.

You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
