I travel a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I usually take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in HOUSTON TX where I ate at Azteca's Margarita Bar & Grill and I read a really interesting cover story to do with bamboo clothes. I did not know you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a excellent option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and purchased a couple basic items of clothing.
I should admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was amazing. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I found some more interesting details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
