I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Recently, I was in HOUSTON TX where I ate at Kiraku Japanese Restaurant and I came across an interesting piece to do with bamboo. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent so it is a excellent possibility for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I have to admit I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After some more research I found out some other interesting details on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
