I travel a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in HONOLULU HI where I ate at Super Chef Gourmet Restaurant and I read a new article on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good possibility for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought some pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was pretty much dry when I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more interesting details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows very rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
