I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Last week, I was in HONOLULU HI where I ate at Halawa Take Out and I read an interesting article about bamboo clothes. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a good possibility for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and purchased a few basic items of clothing.
I have to tell you I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are numerous organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a little more research I found some interesting facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
