I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up eating alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in HONOLULU HI where I ate at Alfred's and I read an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I had no idea you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent option for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got a few items of clothing.
I have to say I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found out some interesting details on bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the growth period which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
