I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in HOLDEN ME where I ate at Dysart's Truck Stop & Restaurant - Dysart's Tr and I read an interesting article on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you are able to make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and purchased some pieces of clothing.
I should admit I was extremely impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is a quality I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic apparel stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found out some more amazing details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Also bamboo uses little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
