I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner alone in cafes. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in HIGH POINT NC where I ate at Bizzy Bee Grocery - Delicatessens and I saw a new piece on bamboo. I did not know you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good choice for gym wear or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and bought a couple basic items of clothing.
I must say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is amazing. I also noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic clothing stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found some incredible facts to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo needs very little water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
