I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up having dinner alone in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in HICKORY NC where I ate at Davinci's Italian Resturant & Pizzaria and I read a new piece to do with bamboo. I had no idea you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a excellent choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got some basic items of clothing.
I should say I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I think is great. I also noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I discovered some incredible details about bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, socks, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
