I move around a lot for my work and so often end up eating all alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in HERMITAGE TN where I ate at IHOP Restaurants Inc and I came across a really interesting article to do with bamboo clothing. I did not know you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a good option for gym clothes or even as bamboo towels. I was interested by these claims so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I must admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I took it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a little more research I found some other incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
