I move around a lot for my job and so often end up eating alone in local restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in HENDERSON KY where I ate at New China Restaurant and I read a new piece about bamboo clothes. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric is softer than regular cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I went online and got some pieces of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some other amazing details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make eco-friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as towels, socks, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
