I move around a lot for my studies and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in restaurants. I like to take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. Recently, I was in HEALDSBURG CA where I ate at Jimtown Store and I saw a new article to do with bamboo. I did not realise you could make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some amazing qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a great choice for gym clothes or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and got a couple basic items of clothing.
I should tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found out some more interesting details to do with bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows very quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses very little water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I go shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothing and other products such as sheets, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
