I move around a lot for my work and so regularly end up eating all alone in restaurants. I usually take a good book or magazine with me to help pass the time. The other day, I was in HAWTHORNE NY where I ate at Pop's Delicatessen and I saw a really interesting cover story on bamboo clothes. I had no idea you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is an excellent quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent which means it is a excellent choice for gym clothes or also as bamboo towels. I was interested by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a few pieces of clothing.
I should say I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate ironing.
You can find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are many organic apparel stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a little more research I found out some more interesting pieces of information to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely fast which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
