I travel quite a lot for my work and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in cafes. I usually take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. The other day, I was in HARWICH MA where I ate at Cranberry Valley Restaurant and I saw an interesting cover story to do with bamboo. I did not know you can make clothes out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is an excellent quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent so it is a good option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by this article so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and got a couple items of clothing.
I must say I was extremely happy with what I bought. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was pretty much dry as soon as I took it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I hate ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After some more research I found some interesting details to do with bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly rapidly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not need pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growing period so they can survive droughts.
I try to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as robes, underwear, rugs, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
