I travel quite a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner all alone in local restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in HARTFORD CT where I ate at Casa Loma Restaurant Payphone and I saw an interesting piece on bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some great qualities. It turns out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a great choice for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was interested by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I searched online and got some items of clothing.
I must say I was pretty impressed. The fabric absolutely is soft, similar to silk. It was close to being dry after I took it out of the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not necessarily need much ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.
After a bit more research I found some more incredible facts on bamboo. It is a product which is organic. It grows extremely rapidly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo requires little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco-friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothes and other products such as sheets, blankets, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find more articles on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
