I move around a lot for my job and so regularly end up having dinner by myself in restaurants. I usually take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in HAMDEN CT where I ate at Cudas Seafood Restaurant and I saw a really interesting piece on bamboo clothes. I did not realise you can make fabric out of bamboo.

Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than most cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent so it is a great option for gym wear or also as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if it was true. I looked online and bought a few basic items of clothing.

I must admit I was pretty impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. The other thing I noticed is that it did not particularly need much ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I can not stand ironing.

After a little more research I found some amazing details about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not require pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs very little water during the time it grows so they can survive droughts.

I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as towels, blankets, rugs, and baby clothes.

You can find more details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
