I travel quite a lot for my job and so often end up having dinner by myself in local restaurants. I often take a novel or magazine with me to help pass the time. Last week, I was in HALLOCK MN where I ate at The Mileage Post Cafe and I saw a new piece about bamboo. I had no idea you can make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and hypo-allergenic. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent making it a good option for gym wear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I went online and purchased a few pieces of clothing.
I have to say I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry when I removed it from the washing machine which I think is incredible. I also noticed is that it did not necessarily require ironing. I do not know if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is something I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Find the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothing stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo towels.
After a bit more research I discovered some other incredible facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows extremely quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. As well as that, bamboo requires only a small amount of water during the time it grows which means they can survive droughts.
I attempt to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, throws, and baby clothes.
You can find some articles on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
