I travel quite a lot for my studies and so usually end up eating all alone in local restaurants. I often take a book or magazine with me to prevent boredom. Last week, I was in HAGERSTOWN MD where I ate at Muellers German Deli and I saw an interesting cover story on bamboo. I did not know you could make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. It turns out bamboo clothing is softer than organic cotton. Apparently it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a fantastic quality to have in clothes. Bamboo clothing is highly absorbent which means it is a good option for gym gear or possibly as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by this article so I had to find out if this was really the case. I searched online and got some items of clothing.
I should tell you I was very impressed. The fabric definitely is soft, not unlike silk. It was almost dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was great. Another thing I noticed is that it did not really need ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo clothes are like that but it is a quality I look for as I can not stand ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can buy organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After a little more research I found out some more incredible pieces of information about bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not need any fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo needs only a small amount of water during the growth period meaning they can survive droughts.
I try to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable making it my number one choice for t-shirts and other products such as robes, blankets, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find plenty of details on bamboo here and good info about organic farming and the benefits of organic products.
