I move around a lot for my job and so usually end up having my dinner by myself in local restaurants. I like to take a book or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. Recently, I was in GURNEE IL where I ate at Fairfield Inn - Gurnee and I saw a really interesting article on bamboo. I did not realise you could make fabric out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. For example, bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than regular cotton. They say it is antibacterial and good for you if you suffer from allergies. That is a great quality to have in clothing. Bamboo clothing is extremely absorbent making it a excellent possibility for gym gear or also as bamboo towels. I was intrigued by what I had discovered so I had to find out for myself. I looked online and bought a few basic items of clothing.
I must say I was pretty happy with what I bought. The fabric really is soft, similar to silk. It was almost dry after I removed it from the washing machine which I thought was incredible. Another thing I noticed is that it did not particularly require ironing. I am not sure if all bamboo fabric is like that but it is what I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can get organic cotton clothes as well bamboo linen.
After some more research I found out some more incredible facts on bamboo. It is almost always organic. It grows incredibly fast which means it does not require fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Plus bamboo uses only a small amount of water during the time it grows meaning they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make environmentally friendly choices whenever I do my shopping. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so for me it is the number one choice for clothes and other products such as towels, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find some information on bamboo here and good information about organic farming and how to choose organic produce.
