I travel a lot for my studies and so often end up eating all alone in restaurants. I like to take a novel or magazine with me to make me feel less alone. The other day, I was in GRETNA LA where I ate at LA Fiesta Restaurant and I came across a new article about bamboo clothing. I did not realise you can make clothing out of bamboo.
Bamboo has some fantastic qualities. I found out bamboo fabric and clothing is softer than organic cotton. They also say it is antibacterial and hypoallergenic. That is a great quality to have in a fabric. Bamboo clothing is very absorbent making it a great choice for gym gear or even as bamboo towels. I was fascinated by these claims so I had to find out if this was really the case. I looked online and bought a couple pieces of clothing.
I have to tell you I was extremely impressed with the quality. The fabric definitely is soft, kind of like silk. It was close to being dry as soon as I removed it from the washing machine which I found to be amazing. The other thing I noticed is that it did not really require ironing. I I am unaware if all bamboo clothing is like that but it is something I look for as I hate doing ironing.
Check out the latest bamboo clothes here or there are plenty of organic clothes stores where you can purchase organic cotton clothes as well bamboo sheets.
After a bit more research I found some other interesting details about bamboo. It is generally organic. It grows incredibly quickly which means it does not need fertilisers and they do not use pesticides either. Also bamboo requires very little water during the growth period so they can survive droughts.
I do my best to make eco friendly choices whenever I can. Bamboo is organic, renewable, and sustainable so it is my number one choice for clothing and other products such as robes, underwear, curtains, and baby clothes.
You can find more information on bamboo here and good points about organic farming and why to buy organic products.
